N1 Slovenia Turns Four: A Story of Growth, Credibility, and Impact
23rd June, 2025
This June, N1 Slovenia celebrated its fourth anniversary—four years of delivering credible, independent journalism to audiences across the country.
“Four years may not seem like a long time, though to us, it sometimes feels like much more has passed—not just because of the strong results we’ve achieved, but because of the impact our journalism has had on public life in Slovenia,” said Katja Šeruga, News Director N1 Slovenia. “The newsroom is a dynamic, creative, and fast-paced environment. Of course, numbers matter in any business, and ours remain strong. With nearly 50% market share, our efforts to build a loyal audience are clearly paying off. But what matters most to me is seeing that our journalists, cameramen, photographers, and everyone else on the team are proud to be part of what we’re building here.”
We celebrated N1’s anniversary by presenting awards to team members for their outstanding contributions over the past year.
The top honor went to Vid Libnik, Head of Digital Development at N1 Slovenia. Special recognition awards were presented to Daily Editor Rok Atelšek, journalist Kamilo Lorenci from N1 Slovenia, and Forbes Slovenia journalist Marko Rabuza. For exceptional work in the newsroom, awards were given to N1 journalist Urška Železnik and Sportklub web journalist Uroš Iskra, while the title of Cameraman of the Year went to Denis Sadiković.
Exactly four years ago, the N1 network—already established in Serbia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina—expanded into Slovenia with the launch of the digital platform n1info.si. Staying true to the editorial values of the N1 brand, N1 Slovenia has since positioned itself as a trusted, professional, and responsible source of news for the Slovenian public.
