N1 and Nova journalists among recipients of NDNV’s Annual Award in Serbia

30th January, 2025

N1 journalists Ksenija Pavkov and Sanja Kosović, along with Nova journalist Sanja Eker, are among the group of Novi Sad journalists awarded the annual prize by the Independent Journalists’ Association of Vojvodina (NDNV).

“Instead of opening a competition for multiple categories, the NDNV plenary has chosen to award the Annual Prize to Novi Sad journalists who have elevated professional standards, fully dedicating themselves to the protection of the public interest,” the association stated in its explanation.

The NDNV highlighted that during three months of reporting on city events, from the collapse of the railway station canopy onward, Novi Sad reporters worked tirelessly to inform the public. Thanks to their exceptional dedication, perseverance, top-tier professionalism, collegiality, and solidarity, relevant and accurate information reached not only the citizens of Novi Sad but also the entire country in a timely manner.

“We believe that the work done by Novi Sad journalists in covering the tragedy and the subsequent student uprising—sparked by the regime’s attempt to evade responsibility—has significantly contributed to raising awareness and fostering a critical public that had long been anesthetized.”

Their contribution to journalism and society as a whole is immense.

For this reason, this year’s NDNV Annual Award for journalistic excellence, professional dedication, and solidarity is presented to: Nataša Kovačev, Aleksandar Latas, Zlatko Čonkaš, Žarko Bogosavljević, Sanja Eker, Ksenija Pavkov, Sanja Kosović, Dragana Prica, Petar Alimpijević, and Dalibor Stupar.
