United Media and Pula Film Festival open applications for “Make the Scene—Comedy Edition”
25th April, 2025
United Media and the Pula Film Festival are proud to announce the continuation of their successful collaboration through the second edition of their joint project, “Make the Scene.”
Following last year’s workshop, which attracted significant interest and resulted in original projects, the partners continue their support for regional talent and the promotion of authentic television storytelling.
As part of this year’s “Make the Scene—Comedy Edition,” a call for submissions is now open to talented writers from Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro to submit their original scripted television series projects in the comedy and dramedy genres in the language of the applicant’s country.
Applications for the pitching program are open from April 25 to May 25, 2025. Each applicant may submit up to two projects, provided that the projects have not previously received financial support or awards through other competitions or public calls. Submissions can be made independently or in collaboration with a production company.
The pitching session will be held in the participants’ native languages, in front of a three-member expert jury, during the Pula Film Festival, which takes place from July 10 to 17, 2025. The best project will receive a cash prize, while the runner-up will be awarded expert mentorship support to further develop their project.
United Media is the leading media company in Southeast Europe and a regional production powerhouse, annually producing over 40,000 hours of original content. The collaboration with the Pula Film Festival, the oldest film festival in Croatia, is part of the company’s broader strategic commitment to supporting creativity, production, and culture in the region.
The success of last year’s workshop and the recognition earned by its finalists highlight the value of such initiatives, and United Media is proud to continue championing original ideas and fresh voices across the regional television landscape.
More information about the program and application guidelines is available on the official festival website.
