“Best men” win over Hungary: Another Croatian drama series triumphs internationally

After holding the title of the most-watched drama series in Croatia for three consecutive years, Best Men is now achieving success on the international stage. The Hungarian adaptation of the series, titled Pokoli rokonok began airing in January 2025 and has since recorded excellent viewership results, surpassing the average and confirming the success of the original Croatian series. Following the successful adaptations of No matter what, At the border and Pure love, this marks the fourth adaptation of a Nova TV series for the Hungarian market.

“The series produced by Nova TV have been sold to as many as 46 countries worldwide, meaning that approximately one and a half billion people have watched something produced by Nova TV. We continuously invest in the production of original content, and we are proud that another one of our series has been recognized beyond the Croatian market,” stated Sanja Tucman, Production Director at Nova TV.

The Hungarian series Pokoli rokonok follows the storyline of the original but includes elements tailored to Hungary’s cultural and social context. The adaptation follows the successful formula of the original while introducing unique features suited to the local Hungarian audience. Through humor, drama, and emotional moments, the series portrays the dynamics of family relationships, friendships, and rivalries as the characters navigate the challenges of everyday life.

The success of the Hungarian adaptation once again confirms the strength of this series as a universal story that transcends cultural and linguistic barriers.
