Discover the inspiring female leaders at the Forbes Adria Power Women’s Summit

Forbes Adria, part of United Media, is organizing its first regional event – the Power Women’s Summit, which will take place on September 4th in Belgrade. This event will bring together extraordinary women from various industries: business, healthcare, fashion, marketing, sports—women who break barriers every day and inspire with their stories.We will discuss entrepreneurship and the role of women, showcase successful women who have built top-tier careers abroad, meet those who aren’t afraid to break the rules, and talk about health, authenticity, and how women in business are shaping the future. 

Attending this event will provide everyone with a unique opportunity to network with colleagues, potential mentors, and business partners, and gain new skills and knowledge through interactive workshops and panels. 

Along with numerous successful businesswomen from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the summit will also feature those who have built their careers abroad and inspire women worldwide. Some of the participants include:

LISA CARMEN WANG

Lisa Carmen Wang is a former U.S. champion in rhythmic gymnastics and a successful entrepreneur. After her sports career, she founded the Bad Bitch Empire. Her work focuses on economically empowering women, especially through investments in women-led startups. Wang has been named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list and is recognized as one of the 100 Most Powerful Women by Entrepreneur magazine. 

KATHLEEN GRIFFITH

Kathleen Griffith is an entrepreneur who helps women start and grow businesses. She founded Grayce & Co, a marketing and media consulting company that works with global brands like Nike and Verizon. Griffith later launched the platform Build Like a Woman, dedicated to empowering female entrepreneurs, and is the author of a bestselling book by the same name. Her mission is to encourage women to invest in other women, creating a community of support and success.

PROFESSOR MAJA

Professor Maja is a globally successful sociologist and TEDx speaker. After earning her PhD in sociology, she became known for her stance against apologizing and her commitment to empowering women by improving communication skills and confidence. She authored the book “Hey Ladies, Stop Apologizing…” and leads a global study on women’s confidence.

STAŠA STANKOVIĆ

Staša Stanković is a young scientist from Cambridge and the founder of the startup OvartiX. Her scientific team is working on discovering next-generation therapies for reproductive diseases and infertility in women. Her research focuses on understanding the genetics of reproductive aging, fertility, and menopause, and their impact on diseases in women, including osteoporosis and tumors. She has been recognized as one of the top young scientists in the biomedical sector in the UK and is a recipient of numerous prestigious awards.

ANA ANĐELIĆ

Ana Anđelić is one of today’s most influential marketing experts and is currently the global Chief Marketing Officer for Esprit. Ana holds a PhD in sociology from Columbia University, is the author of the book “The Business of Aspiration,” and is an expert in luxury brands. She has held key positions in leading global fashion companies, and her career is synonymous with innovation and leadership in marketing. She has been featured three times on Forbes’ lists of top marketing professionals.

KEREN HOD

Keren Hod is an entrepreneur who empowers women through her community WE – Women Entrepreneurs, which has over 40,000 members. With a mission to encourage women to pursue entrepreneurship, her platform has supported more than 1,000 startups. Hod is recognized as a leader in empowering women and is an inspiring speaker, known for her motto “Dream Big, Achieve Bigger.” 

NIKA ZUPANC

Nika Zupanc is a Slovenian industrial designer known for creating luxury pieces for prestigious brands like Dior, Natuzzi, and Alessi. Nika gained global recognition with the Lolita lamp. In 2008, she founded her own studio, where her team works on projects that reflect modern culture and contemporary design. Her extensive work is presented in the monograph titled Nika Zupanc: Breaking the Rules, published by Rizzoli in September 2022.

MILA LITVINJENKO

Mila Litvinjenko is the owner of the renowned cosmetic brand Aura, which she started in 1996 in Niš with just a few employees. Today, her company has over 100 employees and products available in 17 countries. Litvinjenko is dedicated to empowering women in entrepreneurship, emphasizing the importance of balancing professional and personal life. 

KATARINA LOTRIČ

Katarina Lotrič is an entrepreneur and founder of an innovative fitness platform focused on personalized training programs. Her work is recognized for offering solutions that help people overcome challenges and achieve their fitness goals, even on tough days. Lotrič has won two Apple awards for her innovations, and her mission is to inspire the community to care for their physical and mental health.

ŽAKLINE TROSKOT  

Zakline Troskot is the owner of the Zagreb’s patisseries Amélie and is known to the public as a jury member in the popular culinary shows. Born and raised in Munich, she moved to Croatia in 2000. Although she has been passionate about gastronomy from a young age, Zakline studied economics. She opened her first pastry shop in Zagreb in 2010 and is also active as a representative of restaurateurs and entrepreneurs. She frequently speaks openly about industry challenges and improving the position of entrepreneurs in society. 

LARA BOHINC

Lara Bohinc is a furniture designer born in Slovenia, currently living in London. After studying industrial design in Ljubljana, she moved to London to continue her education at the Royal College of Art. She soon became a consultant for luxury brands, including Montblanc, Gucci, and Cartier, where she worked for over ten years. She opened her own studio in 2016. For her work, she has received several awards, including the Order of the British Empire, presented to her by Queen Elizabeth II.
