Filming starts for new season of Shadows Over the Balkans

13th November, 2018

The filming of the second season of the Shadows Over the Balkans (Senke nad Balkanom) series, a United Media original production, started on November 12 in the village of Baranda outside Belgrade.

The second season of the series is scheduled to start airing on the TOP kanal next year, following the huge success of first season.

Series author and director Dragan Bjelogrlic has brought his crew back to the site of season 1 of the thriller in the Jatagan Mala quarter for a new round of events which take place in 1934, six years after events in the first season.

The main characters, two police detectives played by Bjelogrlic and Andrija Kuzmanovic are once again caught up in a mystery which could change the fate of Europe. They are faced with international conspiracies, secret societies, extreme ideologies, drug wars and decadence while trying to solve horrendous crimes shaking Belgrade.

The second season features a spectacular mixture of action, drama, mystery and tension from the muddy streets of the Jatagan Mala slum to the shining corridors of power in Vienna, raising the standards for local productions.

The author of the soundtrack is Magnifiko who wrote the music for the first season of Shadows Over the Balkans and worked with Bjelogrlic earlier on his Montevideo series.
