Nova TV redefines broadcast journalism with innovative VR Coverage of Presidential Inauguration
20th February, 2025
Pushing the boundaries of television journalism, Croatian Nova TV marked the inauguration of Zoran Milanović’s second term as President of Croatia with a ground-breaking VR segment that captivated audiences with an unprecedented virtual tour of Pantovčak (Official residence of the President).
Developed by Nova TV’s Marketing Production Graphics Department, this cutting-edge feature transformed traditional coverage into an immersive experience, showcasing the potential of advanced technology in news reporting.
This segment, conceived and executed entirely in virtual reality, provided a completely new experience of following the inauguration. Nova TV reporter Dino Goleš was filmed in a virtual studio and then integrated into a richly detailed 3D reconstruction of Pantovčak. Viewers were thus able to experience an exclusive tour of the presidential complex like never before – with a fascinating visualization of the entire estate, key historical insights, and a unique perspective on the most important locations.
One of the most visually striking moments was when Goleš appeared on the plateau, a well-known location for receiving delegations, before continuing the tour inside the building, walking through rooms that are usually inaccessible to the public. The precise 3D reconstruction enabled incredible realism – every detail of the estate and its interiors was brought to perfection.
The virtual tour of Pantovčak is the result of the application of advanced technologies and the creative approach of the production graphics team. By using state-of-the-art 3D modeling and virtual production tools, exceptional accuracy was achieved in reconstructing every detail. This innovative approach not only adds a new dimension to television journalism but also demonstrates how technology can enhance the way viewers experience news content.
The Marketing Production Graphics team at Nova TV has successfully raised the standards of visual production, opening new possibilities for future projects
