Radar’s First Anniversary: A Testament to Independent Reporting
13th March, 2025
Serbia’s leading political weekly, Radar, marks its first anniversary, celebrating a year of investigative journalism, uncompromising reporting, and a commitment to the public interest. In just twelve months, Radar has established itself as a trusted and influential voice, proving that in a landscape often shaped by pressure and censorship, independent journalism not only survives but thrives.
With over 300,000 copies sold, it has been proven that high-quality, analytical journalism still commands a dedicated audience. The overwhelming demand for the first issue, which sold out in a single day, was an early sign of the publication’s influence. But Radar is not only a print magazine. Website Radar.rs has nearly half a million unique visitors each month. With 25 million page views and 16 million sessions, it is clear that Serbian readers value in-depth, fact-based journalism over superficial reporting.
“From the very beginning, we knew that the path we chose would not be easy. But we also knew that journalism without integrity is not journalism at all. Over the past year, Radar has set new standards in investigative reporting, bringing to light stories that matter, challenging those in power, and giving readers content that informs, provokes thought, and drives change. The impact we have made in just one year speaks volumes about the need for independent, fearless journalism in Serbia,” said editor-in-chief Vesna Malisic.
On social media, particularly Instagram, Radar has built a community of 45,000 followers, proving that investigative journalism can engage younger generations—those who consume content differently but still seek accuracy, analysis, and relevance.
