United Media brings the NBA back to Sportklub in Croatia and Slovenia

21st October, 2025

United Media has secured the rights to broadcast the NBA on Sportklub channels in Croatia and Slovenia. After six years, the world’s premier basketball league is returning to Sportklub, marking the start of an exciting new chapter for basketball fans across the region.

A multi-year agreement has been reached to the mutual satisfaction of both sides, ensuring that live games, daily highlights, and weekly NBA shows once again take center stage in Sportklub’s programming lineup.

“By bringing the NBA back to Sportklub, we are elevating our content offering and giving our viewers a completely new dimension of sports entertainment. This is the best basketball in the world, featuring the best players in the world, and watched by millions across the globe. We will do everything we can to showcase the NBA in the best possible way so that every fan can experience the excitement of every moment. Viewers will once again enjoy some of the biggest games, the most spectacular plays, and the stars they love,” said Sportklub CEO Nemanja Simeunović.

“We are excited to work closely with Sportklub to bring NBA games and bespoke content to fans throughout Croatia and Slovenia,” said NBA Europe and Middle East Associate Vice President, Global Media Distribution, Adam Cox. “Both countries have a long history with the game and have produced some of the NBA’s most talented players, so we look forward to continue nurturing that passionate fandom through Sportklub’s experience and extensive reach.”

In Croatia, the upcoming NBA season will feature Ivica Zubac (Los Angeles Clippers), Dario Šarić (Sacramento Kings), and Karlo Matković (New Orleans Pelicans). Croatia has produced 24 NBA players to date including legends such as Dražen Petrović, Toni Kukoč, Dino Rađa, and Bojan Bogdanović.

Slovenia will be represented by Luka Dončić of the L.A. Lakers, one of the brightest stars in the NBA today. Over the years, 13 Slovenian players have appeared in the league, including Goran Dragić, Rasho Nesterović, and Sasha Vujačić.

International players continue to highlight the NBA landscape. The reigning MVP is Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), while European superstars like Dončić, Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets), and Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks) continue to prove that basketball excellence knows no borders.

The new NBA season tips off on October 21, with 30 teams competing across 82 regular-season games. The defending champion is Oklahoma City Thunder, while fans eagerly await the debut of top NBA Draft pick Cooper Flagg (Dallas Mavericks) and Kevin Durant’s first appearance in a Houston Rockets jersey. A new era is also beginning on the sidelines — after 29 years, Gregg Popovich is stepping down in San Antonio, passing the baton to Mitch Johnson.

With its unmatched global following, the NBA’s return to Sportklub promises countless thrilling nights for fans in Croatia and Slovenia.
