United Media joins the global celebration of World Television Day

21st November, 2025

United Media, the leading media company in Southeast Europe operating more than 60 television channels, proudly joins the global celebration of World Television Day, highlighting the enduring power and relevance of television in today’s rapidly evolving media landscape.

This year’s campaign emphasizes how television has adapted to modern life—living on every screen, from the largest living room displays to mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. TV now meets viewers wherever they are, whenever they choose to watch.

Despite the constant evolution of platforms and technology, the core role of television remains unchanged: to provide trusted news, inspiring stories, and cultural moments that bring people together.

“This World Television Day reminds us that television is not only evolving — it is shaping how societies stay informed, connected, and engaged. And throughout all these changes, one constant remains: viewers gravitate toward the places where trust, quality, and responsibility come together.

Across every country in which United Media operates, our channels are consistently recognized as independent and accountable news sources. Research shows that audiences trust them more than any others — especially in challenging moments, when accurate, verified information is not just important, but essential. That trust is our greatest responsibility.

As a company that operates 60 channels, including seven free-to-air services, we see transformation not as a threat but as an invitation to innovate with purpose. It motivates us to protect the value of premium content, to expand original production, and to strengthen the role of reliable media as a cornerstone of democracy and social cohesion.

World Television Day is also a reminder that media freedom must be defended every day. Without free and independent television, there is no free society”, stated Aleksandra Subotic, CEO of United media.

No matter how television continues to transform, United Media will remain firmly committed to the principles that define us: independent editorial policy, responsible journalism, and serving the public interest.
