The Nova.rs portal was founded in February 2020. From the very beginning, it positioned itself as an independent source of information in a country where the majority of media is under the control of the ruling party. The portal’s mission has always been clear: to provide independent, truthful, significant, and attractive news and features in Serbia for audiences with various interests – politics, economy, crime, sports, entertainment, fashion, design… Essentially, a catch-all news outlet.
The portal is currently ranked 4th among the most read portals in the country.
Today, our mission remains the same, even as the media environment in Serbia continues to deteriorate, subjecting us daily to pressures from the government, SLAPP suits, threats, and hate speech propagated by those in power. In the face of these circumstances, Nova.rs continues to provide our viewers with quality, diverse content from various sources and perspectives.
